My top 10 tips for speeding up your morning routine for moms

Hey guys! Kimberly here with Metalhead by Design and welcome to my first blog post.

Today, I'm going to be going over my top 10 favorite ways to help you get ready fast in the morning.   A few things you should know about me. I am very simplistic in how I get ready so this will not be my everyday example.  This will be more like a day that I am getting ready for an event, Networking, maybe have a kids play, or when I know I am going to be seen by people business-wise.  But, this may be a regular day for you and I am here to help.

Also, I am a mother of 4 so being able to get ready fast in the morning is a must for me. I am always on the lookout for ways to get ready fast.

In a later blog post, I will go over a normal day for me.

So here we go!!!

Take a shower the night before

I'm a big fan of this.  Really because I don’t like taking a shower in the morning, because I usually do not work out or do hard work until late in the morning.  Also, me being a handmade jewelry designer I tend to get dirty at times so night showers work best for.

Showers at night for obvious reasons remove the need to take a shower in the morning.  This will, off the bat save you a good 20 minutes in the morning.

Don’t forget to apply that lotion.

Braid your hair before bed

This a great tip for those with long and short hair.  There are many ways you can go about this. First, one big braid will give you long wavy locks in the morning but keep in mind that it does take longer to dry. several tiny braids dry much faster and will give you a more lifted locked curl.

If you are not a crazy sleeper and your braid looks good in the morning you can wear the braid into the day.   If you are able to do this the curl will be set even tighter for the next day. Which moves me into my next tip.

Do not wash your hair every day

I know, I know for some of you this will sound crazy and it might not work for you if your hair gets oily hair very fast.   For those of you that get oily hair very fast, a good dry shampoo should help you extend at least a day. I personally can get away with washing my hair once maybe twice a week because I do have decently thick and curly hair and my hair does not get oily very fast. This can save tons of time. My hair has different styles depending on the day of the week. My hair week will typically start off with my hair being super curly.  Once the curl has fallen out and become unmanageable my hair gets straightened then put into a ponytail until I have to wash it. If you can get away with doing this it is a crazy time Saver.

Wear a High Ponytail

This is a no brainer. A super-high ponytail will just lift you in the morning.  Not only does it look cute but it also will kind of tighten the skin a little bit on your face which is kind of like an instant face-lift. Just saying!

All in one Foundation

I know, I know, we live in a day of primer, layering foundation, concealer, and contouring. But, if you're trying to get ready fast in the morning, you just don't have time for all of that or maybe you just don't like doing it so here is the solution.  An all in one foundation cream will work perfectly. Just make sure you spend the time to get the right color and quality, all in one. We are trying to get ready fast but not trying to short end ourselves. That said an all in one foundation will be a lifesaver when you're trying to get ready fast in the morning.

Use your fingers

If some of you guys did stop reading with the suggestion of an all-in-one Foundation you might after this one. Use your fingers to apply everything. I know,  I know who does that anymore in the age of beauty blenders and a brush for this and a brush for that. Don't get me wrong they are nice and great to have but this is getting ready fast in the morning and sometimes we just need to use our fingers. To be honest this is what I do most of the time.  My daughter hates it. lol

Use the same color for everything

This is something that I remember reading in a Seventeen magazine I believe when I was in the 8th grade. find a color that works for you and use it on everything. Your eyes, your cheeks, your lips.  Who Know? This will save you time and money because you can invest in something that is a great quality product and use it all over.

Mascara! Mascara! Mascara!

This is something that is a must-have for me. I use mascara every day.   For me, it is very important to find a good one. I have been known to, on most days to just use mascara and some chapstick and that is it. For me having red hair, my eyelashes are decently long but they are light so I have to have mascara.  Mascara is a must-have.

Plan your outfit the night before

This just makes life so much easier.  I know you've heard it before and are probably banging your head about it but quickly pick out your clothes the night before you will instantly feel less rushed in the morning. And while you're at it have your kids pick out their clothes also. But then again that's a whole other blog in of itself. Just pick out your clothes the night before.

 Have go-to pieces

This is another great time saverHave your go-to pieces of jewelry Such as our Luna Copper and Pearl Crescent Moon Necklace or clothes to help you get ready.  Having your go-to pieces will just add a little bit of pop to your outfit and it will make you feel more comfortable. I love having those pieces of jewelry that when I put them on they just make me feel like everything is pulled together. It's the little things that make you happy.

So there it is.  My go-to tips for getting ready fast in the morning. These will help you feel put together and less rushed in the morning.  And in turn, start your day off less stressed.

What do you do to get ready fast in the morning and feel put together in the morning?  please comment and let me know.
