I had lost myself in the hustle of life and growing up. I was aching to embrace the parts of me, I felt I had lost because they did not conform to adult life. I wanted to bring back some of the old me but had no clue how to blend the past with the present.
After years of slowly losing myself to the grind of wife life (I love you babe), motherhood (which I love), and really losing myself in an unfulfilling job. I realized I did not need to conform to one side of myself and hide the other to make a difference in others.
You will make even more of a difference embracing all of yourself. We are not made to fit into one box and it’s not fun there. We don’t fit into only the box of motherhood, Metalhead, Career women, or hippie.
My passion for design started as a child running through the New Mexico desert collecting stones and creating wedding gowns for tons of different countries and weather because I could never make up my mind as to where I was going to get married.
I have also always loved people and wanted to make them happy which lead me to many customer service positions.
When I was 23 years old, I landed a job that I had no idea would require me to learn how to repair campers and I feel in love with working with my hands.
After moving to Virginia Beach, having more children, and then starting one of the most unfulfilling jobs I have ever had I ached to work with my hands again and so Metalhead by Design was formed in 2017.
The rest is history.
With the support of my husband and Kids, I have been able to quit that job and design full time and I would not have it any other way.
I am inspired by the extremes we have as women, Nature, Heavy metal and that is how I create my pieces.
I design my pieces using different materials from edgy copper, raw stones to the soft elegance of cork.
My designs are meant to show off all the sides we have as women.
My pieces will easily carry you through work at the office, a night on the town, or at home with your favorite pair of jeans and a T-shirt.
